What Is a Diet for a Healthy Heart? – Ben Cohen, MD – Cardiology

– Well the diet for a healthy heart is a diet for a healthy body. We need to get away from processed foods that contain a lot of sugar
and excessive amounts of fat, fat contains calories. You need to eat healthy. You need to eat vegetables and fruits, whole grains with a small amount of fresh, free-range organic proteins,
small amount of dairy, low-fat, and a small amount of other supplemental dietary adjuncts like a
small amount of alcohol, a small amount of perhaps dark chocolate. These are foods that contain antioxidants and promote health. But it’s important to avoid
excessively-processed foods, factory-processed foods
which contain lots of sugar and lots of fat, and lots of salt. Benefiting from the bounty
of what grows in the ground and walks the ground
and eat it in its fresh and natural state processed
by you in your kitchen, in your home, or minimally
processed by appropriate vendors that have your health in mind.
