THANKS SO MUCH FOR COMING IN. What are some things we can all do to save money on our grocery bills? What else can we do while we’re grocery shopping to save money? It’s so easy to get bored eating the same meals over and over. How can people include different foods without cooking a homemade meal every night? How can people get more information about eating healthy on a budget? ————————– ————————– ————————– ———- What are some things we can all do to save money on grocery bills?We can plan, plan, plan! Before we head to the grocery store, we can plan our meals for the week. ” It’s important to check what foods you already have and make a list for what you need to buy. Buying fruits and vegetables in season – like summer tomatoes and bell peppers- is a great way to lower food costs. ” Certain foods -like beans, carrots, greens, potatoes, apples and bananas- are typically low-cost options all year round. Include these low-cost and in- season items into your weekly meal plan. How can we use different foods in our meal plan without cooking a homemade meal every night? ” We can get our creative juices flowing. I’m going to show you a way to spice up leftovers – using them in new ways. I have some leftover chicken and vegetable kabobs. This is a great way to “stretch” expensive items like meat and add more vegetables to your plate. I can turn last night’s leftovers into a kabob salad tonight and a fajita quesadilla tomorrow night. ” You can also get creative with your children and ask them for ideas for how to prepare leftovers.
