Medical Minute: Healthy Eating During Pregnancy

Hi, my name is Donna Papazian. I’m one of
the Nurse Midwives at Reliant Medical Group and I’d like to share some points,
pointers about nutrition and pregnancy. Most important thing that you can do for
your baby is to eat healthy – whole foods, you want to avoid anything processed,
anything refined, any fast foods. You want to eat whole foods, things that if you
put in your refrigerator, and it stayed too long, it would go bad. You don’t want
to eat bad food, but you want to eat whole healthy foods, avoiding high
refined carbs, like cookies, cakes, candy, white flour products. You want to eat
from places in the supermarkets that are around the perimeter of the supermarket –
fresh fruits, vegetables, protein, chicken, fish, meats, beans, lentils. The most
important thing is eating healthy so that your baby gets the nourishment he
or she needs. That’s it, and I hope you enjoy this Medical Minute!
