Keto VS Paleo – Part 7


Hey folks, Dr. McCarthy here and I want
to welcome you to today’s video where we’re talking about our new upcoming
workshop series. We are doing weekly workshops here in the office, free of
charge, purely informational. Our goal is to educate folks and empower them to
make life-changing decisions on how you can get your health back again. My
thought is that the current system that we’re dealing with is broken and we’re
going to give folks the opportunity to get some information to find out ways
that they could truly get their health back today. Today’s video we’re going to
talk about the difference between the ketogenic diet and Anna Paleo diet and
we see lots of folks who are you know out there purporting that their diet is
the best diet in the world, everyone needs to go keto, everyone needs to eat
paleo and there are some differences between the two but I like them both,
they’re both good. However there’s some subtle differences between the two and
those need to be taken into account before you decide what’s right for you.
The ketogenic type diet you’ll see is generally higher in fats and you know
people take this to the extreme, they you know say I’m going keto and eat a pound
of bacon every morning, probably not the best thing in the world.
Keto also purports, you know it allows you to eat lots of dairy, dairies good,
good fat, good fat into dairy, good fat in your bacon, maybe maybe not. A paleo is
more like leans and greens, nuts and seeds and again it’s not a
one-size-fits-all so you know in our office we’ve talked about this multiple
times, we do the food testing, so you can take one of these general frameworks,
keto or Paleo and customize it when you get the results, like this person here is
have a big time reaction to dairy. So if they wanted to do the keto diet and increase their fats and lower their carbs, you know one of the
things that we see a lot of keto folks do is bulletproof coffee and you know
putting like a stick of butter into a cup of coffee and yeah that’s great for
you, unless you’re this person, this person is gonna have a disaster
going ketogenic so they’re gonna say, all that diet stinks it didn’t work for me.
No it’s not that the diet stinks, it’s that you were eating something that your
immune system did not like. So we run the test in our office and if you do the
test, you can customize a paleo, keto type diet and that’s really what what we offer
our folks, we give you our own special version of a diet but then we customize
it after we run the test. So if you’re eating foods that are creating these
immune system reactions, you’re getting inflammation and this predisposes folks
to all kinds of things like chronic pain, weight loss resistance, headaches,
migraines, thyroid problems, autoimmune issues, which is really what most thyroid
problems are. Fibromyalgia, ADD, ADHD, the whole spectrum of
autoimmune diseases, digestive problems. So there is no best diet for anyone,
you’ve got to figure out what’s best for you after you do the proper testing. So
