Hjemmelavede romkugler – de bedste / How to make Danish pastry recipe – rumballs

Hi everybody.
Today we will be making rumballs, homemade rumballs. And it is the best recipe to find on the
internet. We will be using:
1 Plain cake
1 Swiss roll with raspberry stuffing.
2 tbsp. cocoa powder 2 tbsp. raspberry jam
and
3 tbsp. rum essence We begin with the Plain cake, as we bought
from the grocery store at 12 dkr ( 1,31£ ) Open it, and put it in the bowl. This recipe should’nt take more than about 10 minutes to make. So it’s super easy and fast. Open the Swiss role bought for 9.95 dkr ( 1£ )
and place it in the bowl in pieces Take 3 tbsp rum essence 1…2…3 Hereafter we take our rasperry jam, and add about 2 tbsp of that aswell. Last we take the cocoa powder and add another 2 tbsp of that. Use the cheapest cocoa powder and rasperry
jam you can find. In with the claw, and squeez and
mash it all up. The recipe i’ve found on the internet, you
don’t have to do anything other than to form the balls afterwards. I on the otherhand recommend, because the dough is rather soft that you put it in the refrigerator in approx. 20 min so it hardens up.
This way its easier to form the dough and make the balls nice and round. There you go! Place it it the fridge and wait about
20 – 30 min. Welcome back
Our dough is cooled down, and is more firm than before. It should be easier to make balls
out of it now. When making the balls, we could add some sprinkels to them. I have desided to make it with coconut. Pour it in a bowl. Take a plate to serve
the rumballs after they are done. Take a piece of dough, and depending on how many balls you want, adjust the amount of dough. I would like plenty, and lets see how many we get by this amount. Role the ball in the coconut sprinkel. We can already feel the dough gets softer, when we shape the in our warm hands. Just keep on shaping the balls. Just for the inspiration, I think that next
time I would make a video where I try to make them in a Less fat version. It’ s possible to buy a
swiss role that have no more than 2,5% fat The trick is to find a
good plain cake, with less fat. If anybody has any ideas to that, leave a comment.
In the commentbox below If you have any other ideas or other variations of these rumballs,
please share it. If you want perfect, equally sized balls you could just weigh the dough. I don’t think it’s neccesary though, it is homemade right. I myself was very skeptical about this recipe, cuz is there anything i like, it’s rumballs. I do not think, I would buy these at the bakery anymore, because these taste just as well
if not better. I shake the bowl to help it shape. There’s dough enough to approx. two more balls, so we’ve made 2..4..6..7..9 rumballs. I think that’s fine considering the small amound of dough. it’s cheap to make yourself, taking to consideration that the price at the bakery is about 10-12 dkr (1 – 1.3£) per ball. Here we get 9 rumballs for the amound of
22 dkr ( 2,10£) dough + the jam and the rum essence and cocoa powder.
It adds up to about 30-40 dkr (3-4 £) for 9 rumballs.
I don’t think that’s expensive. So!
The rumballs are done. Good appetite. It is recommended to place the rumballs in
the fridge again after shaping them. After 15 minutes, it’s served.
