Fruit Chaat, Indian Fruit Salad Recipe by Manjula


Today I will be making fruit chaat. This is very bright, colorful and very refreshing. Also can be served as fruit salad. Fruit chaat can brighten up any meal. Or it can be served by itself. This recipe will serve 6. For this recipe we need: 1 firm banana, peeled and cubed in about 1/2 inch pieces. 2 oranges, peeled and sliced. 1 apple, peeled and cubed in 1/2 inch pieces. About 1/2 cup of strawberries. About 1 cup of cucumber, and I like to use the english or Asian cucumber. 1 green chilli, finely chopped. About 1 tablespoon of finely chopped cilantro. 1/2 teaspoon of roasted ground cumin seed 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper 1/2 teaspoon of black salt 1 tablespoon of sugar About 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. 1 teaspoon of salt Approximately 1 tablespoon of ginger juice. Which is really easy to take it out. For that you need fine shredder. So just shred the ginger. And squeeze it. And that’s how easy it is. First I am going to mix the ingredients for dressing. Salt Sugar Black salt Roasted cumin seed powder Black pepper Lemon juice And ginger juice. So mix it well. So the sugar is dissolved. So this is ready. Now I am going to mix all the fruits together in a bowl. Apples Cucumber Oranges Banana Strawberry It’s already looking very colorful. Green chilli Cilantro Mix it and toss. And now add the dressing. Gently mix it. And give a final toss. And it’s ready to be served. Fruit chaat looks great, very inviting. This is great way to serve fruits to your family and they will ask for it more. Enjoy.
