Add enough water and let it soak for 15 minutes It has soaked well and absorbed all the moisture. Strain the water There should not be any water content in the drained flattened rice Add 2 tbsp rice flour Rice flour is added for binding You can add boiled potato, besan or channa dal as variations instead of rice flour Try shaping a ball If required add more rice flour Next, add 1 finely chopped big onion 1 tsp fennel seeds 2 green chilies 1″ Ginger pieces Let’s add 1sprig finely chopped curry leaves and coriander leaves too Add required salt and mix everything well For 1 cup of flattened rice, you can get 15 – 20 patties You can replace brown flattened rice in the place of white one Now we will start shaping Grease your palms with water or oil and then start shaping Or else it will stick I am making a small hole in the middle for quick frying You can skip and make it like dal patties Our patties are ready. Fry it immediately after shaping If you allow it to rest, flattened rice will leave water and absord oil while frying Now heat enough oil for frying When oil becomes hot, drop the patties one by one Don’t crowd the pan.
