I make lots of fun exclusive content on there you don’t want to miss so make
sure you head over there and get in today’s video I’m sharing with you guys
my tips for staying healthy on a budget I know a lot of you guys like think it
can be really expensive or you may not have options but I’m here to tell you
about there are many ways that you can still eat healthy while being on a
budget so yeah let’s get into it the first tip I have is to plan ahead
this is so important if you plan out and you can strategically look at your
budget so you have $20 or $50 for the week you can plan out your meals
sometimes salads can be like really expensive if they’re prepackaged but if
you plan ahead then you can plan healthy meals that actually cost less by like
buying it in bulk or buying it and making it yourself
maíam exit for you guys is to buy produce if that is in season right now
in Ontario where I live we have cherries cucumbers kale mushrooms also sweet
potato you can Google like what’s it like in season in your area for
depending on where you live in the country and they use that stuff will be
on a better price like for me right now raspberries are like $5.99 for one
little thing so that’s expenses compared to like
something else that’s in season so that way this throughout the year no matter
what season it is you can find affordable produce by just buying what’s
in season my next tip is to do some research versus what’s good to buy
organic and what’s better for you to buy organic and what’s not so this is known
as the Dirty Dozen and the clean fifteen so if you can’t afford to buy completely
organic that way you know things that are better to buy organic in general
things with like an outer shell like an orange or banana aren’t as like
important to buy organic because they have a shell around them but something
like strawberries and nectarines kale other types of berries
I know those are all the dirty dozen so if you can afford to spend a little bit
more those are the ones you want to buff focus like on buying organic my next tip
for you is to a buy frozen and frozen can be absolutely great the stuff is
still has nutritional content and it splashed frozen when it’s ripe so you’re
not like buying old produce it’s bright when it’s frozen and then you can just
cook it and I like this also because you’re not going to waste
anything because it’s frozen so if you find that you buy healthy food but you
don’t get through it and it goes bad in time and then you feel like you’re
wasting money just buy it frozen I buy frozen fruit frozen vegetables they’re
so good to have on hand and they’re easy to just throw into the oven or like heat
up in the microwave and then you’re good to go and you have some nice fresh
produce my next tip for you guys is to make double or triple or just make a big
batch of foods when you make something so something I like to do is I like to
make the bunch of roasted sweet potatoes for the week this way I could grow them
either into salads have them as a side as a snack so I just have healthy things
on hand that I can eat and this makes it less expensive and like going out to eat
or if you’re buying a snack on the go and I love doing this is a bunch of
things that you can also just do meal prep meals that also works too but just
having stuff that you can make in double in bulk that’s cheap like sweet potatoes
or beans both of those are very inexpensive and they’re good to filling
you up and you can have my hand my index it for you guys is to join some rewards
programs this is not sponsored by any kind of rewards program I was talking
about like at my grocery store you get points when you spend money there and
then when you accumulate points then you can redeem that for free groceries which
is crazy I’m pretty sure almost every grocery store has it but is this crazy
that you get points for shopping there and then you get free money towards that
like right now guys I’ve been banking for so long I have almost $200 of free
food it’s amazing and then they have things where you get extra points if you
buy bananas or avocados and the way my app works is that it gives me points on
things that see the history of me buying which is crazy because it know that buy
zucchini so it gives me extra points on zucchini so it’s really fun so I would
suggest looking into reward programs at your local grocery store and my last
tip for you guys is to use some discount sites once again not sponsored by any of
these sites these are just ones that I know of and I use so there is a herb
which I like because that one also ships to Canada
I’ll leave the links for them down in the description box but I like that one
because it’s a lot cheaper and if I buy things at Whole Foods or health food
stores in my area and then there’s also thrive market which I like that one is
only in this state so but they both have really great prices on things
shipping is pretty good as well so if you’re getting like pantry items that
are healthier like gluten free flours crackers cookies or like those types of
things that can be more expensive not like a
whole foods you can get them on there for cheaper so yeah okay guys I hope you
guys enjoyed let me know your tips for staying healthy on a budget down in the
comments below if you haven’t don’t forget to subscribe and certain little
family has here and you I will see you guys in my next video bye guys
